They are doing some of the most elaborate Latte art that I have ever seen, including customizing the drawing with your name. Their sweets are gluten-free and don’t use refined sugar, which is another bonus. The atmosphere is charming and the staff are lovely, so what’s not to like?

Latte Art at Nounours Café in Sapporo, Hokkaido. The drawing on the milk foam consists of a cute bear's face, and an inscription of the first name Norbert (のるばーと) in Hiragana characters. (Usually, my name is written in the Katakana alphabet, but here it just looks nicer in Hiragana). © 2023 Norbert Woehnl Photography.
