Motomachi, located on the slopes of Mount Hakodate in southern Hokkaido, Japan, is a former residential area of foreign traders.
Many western-style buildings remain in the district today. The area is also home to the “19 slopes of Motomachi”, of which Hachiman-zaka is the most famous and popular.
During our visit to Motomachi, my wife and I also went to Idohado Doughnuts, a unique cafe not far from the Catholic church. Please see the post linked below for more details and many photos.
While visiting the Motomachi district during our trip to Hakodate in southern Hokkaido this week, we went to Idohado Doughnuts, a unique and quirky little cafe.
