The approach to the statue leads past Shōwa-era souvenir shops and restaurants, along a lane that gently ascends towards the top of Mount Kannonyama.

The statue, which stands at 41.8 meters tall and weighs almost 6,000 tons, is clearly visible along the way, from a variety of angles and perspectives.

The statue is located on the premises of Jigen-in Temple. The next photo was taken outside the main hall and includes some roof details as a natural frame.

Nearby, there is also a much smaller statue commemorating Inoue Yasusaburo, the local businessman who erected the Kannon statue in 1936.
